Do we wish to be righteous again?
Most of Tacoma is taken up by a large number of docks and the companies who support them. Unfortunately, business has been slowing down lately and the shipping business isn’t what it use to be. Several factories still maintain the district, however they are starting to be edged out by smaller microfactories that use high-end processes to mass produce on a smaller scale. The well known “Tacoma Aroma” is still prevailent, despite efforts by Eta to clean up the sewage and industral waste away from the Sound’s glistening brown tide.
The Yakuza spent years battling the Mafia for control of this middle class district. Tacoma remains a mighty prize with vice, protection rackets, and smuggling operations at stake. Assassinations and bombings are unfortunately common, and street-violence has become an unfortunate, accepted part of Tacoma life.
